A few students from Pioneer Valley High School, in partnership with the school’s National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Club, recently collaborated on a short film to commemorate Student Mental Health Awareness Week. The one-minute film, titled Notice ME!, was shot by student filmmaker Angel Recinos and completed with help from peers Isabelle Mora, Anabel Mora, Jaydene Le Doux, and Elisheva Alipia. The video is available to view for free on Vimeo.

“My main reason for making this film is knowing my friends and their friends are going through a hard time in life, but that doesn’t mean we can’t help others to make their lives smoother,” Recinos said in a press release from the Santa Maria Joint Union High School District. “I hope that this film inspires or at least gives the awareness to people, so not only can they see the signs in their friends, but family too.”
