Students, parents, alumni, and community members are welcome to head “To Cal Poly and Beyond” at the college’s 2010 Open House, set for April 15 through 17. This year’s weekend-long event will have a futuristic theme—a la Buzz Lightyear—and other explorers of new frontiers.
The Open House gives admitted students and their families and friends—along with current students—the opportunity to experience what Cal Poly and the surrounding San Luis Obispo community have to offer. Prospective students will also get to experience campus life and activities.
On April 15, visitors can “Prepare to Launch” their college experience by perusing Cal Poly club booths at Farmers’ Market in downtown San Luis Obispo.
On April 16, students will get to “Blast Off” into the realm of academia as they learn about college courses, hear from college deans, and talk to faculty and current students.
The final day, April 17, showcases how students attending Cal Poly “Shoot for the Stars” through various academic and social clubs. The campus showcase event—also open to alumni and members of the local community—will feature lots of club booths, food, and special events, including the Poly Royal Parade, rodeo, tractor pull, and kids’ fair.
