Lompoc is a town known for its murals, thanks to decades of work by the Lompoc Mural Society. Now, the city of Lompoc will celebrate the newest mural with a weekend’s worth of events that will shine a spotlight on local arts and the new mural by Art Mortimer. The festivities take place across Oct. 8 and 9 at several locations in Lompoc.
Mural in a Weekend welcomes locals and visitors to attend tours, open houses, live performances, art demonstrations, and even help paint portions of the new mural. Titled, Agriculture in the Valley Beautiful, the new mural by Mortimer will wrap around the corner of a building, a first for Lompoc’s mural culture.
Pre-registration is encouraged for mural painting, but signups will be available that day. Information, a complete schedule, and signups are available at explorelompoc.com/mural-in-a-weekend/.
