Remember when John Linn was Lompoc’s mayor? Well, he’s ready for another round.
Linn, mayor of Lompoc from 2010 to 2014, announced his fifth mayoral campaign at Lompoc LAUNCHpad on June 3.
“In the last two years the city of Lompoc has had an administration that has accomplished very little,” Linn said at the announcement. “Instead of the stagnation of the current administration, I will begin where I left off in 2014, with bold and proactive leadership that creates results.”
He said his priorities as mayor would include utility costs, renovation of local sports fields and parks, growing businesses, the housing shortage, and City Council involvement. He added that he would host listening sessions with Lompoc residents in the coming months “to understand their concerns and their vision for the future of Lompoc.”
Linn, a major supporter of the controversial Lompoc Valley Motorsports Park project, has run for mayor on four previous occasions and won twice. As of press time, he was the only candidate to officially announce his bid for Lompoc’s 2016 mayoral race.
