One of Australia’s top-rated morning television shows recently made a stop on the Central Coast to highlight some of the area’s iconic cuisine. Sunrise filmed a spot at Casmalia’s Hitching Post restaurant and interviewed Chef Phil Meza about the specific barbecue style for a part of the series titled “The Original Road Trip.”

The stop was facilitated by the Central Coast Tourism Council and the Santa Maria Valley Chamber of Commerce and Visitor and Convention Bureau, the former of which also coordinated a stay at a local hotel. The television crew also made stops in Gilroy, Monterey, Paso Robles, Santa Margarita, Solvang, Ventura, and Oxnard.
