The 2010 Census is fast approaching, and the County of Santa Barbara Office of Long Range Planning is holding an open house in Santa Maria on Jan. 27 to inform the public of the importance of participating in the count.
Anyone interested in learning more about the census or helping to encourage community members to get involved is invited to attend. Speakers will include elected officials, local government agency representatives and community and faith-based organization leaders. Census outreach materials will be distributed to interested parties, and bureau representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
The open house will take place at the Santa Maria Local Census Office at 124 W. Carmen Lane, suites B and C, beginning at 1 p.m.
