As every new year begins to unfold, people yearn to make a difference in their lives. Here’s a chance to do just that: Make-a-Wish Foundation is training volunteers to help grant wishes to children who have life-threatening medical conditions.

The group needs board members, ideal for people able to contribute financially in addition to volunteering. This position has a three-year term duration. The foundation also needs community representatives who accept checks while representing Make-A-Wish Foundation and speak on behalf of the foundation. Wish granters visit children to learn their wishes and grant them. Office volunteers are responsible for tending to clerical duties. And interns—ah, interns—are the soul of the foundation.

To volunteer, prospects must first submit an application, then be able to be trained for their position. To fill out an application, visit the group’s website or e-mail a request to registrar@tri-counties.wish.org. After applying, potential workers will then have a background check, followed by training.

For any questions, contact Janelle Boehrer at jboehrer@tri-counties.wish.org or at 676-9474, Ext. 0.
