On behalf of the Nipomo Lions, I would like to thank the many businesses and individuals in the community who have made this year such a success for our club in our efforts to help our community be a better place to live. Through your generosity and support, we have been able to give back more than $20,000 this year to help those who need it most. The local media has also been a big part of our ability to make a difference with their support in publicizing our events and sharing our stories of giving back.
Throughout the year, we have been able to help support local food banks, children in need, seniors, and numerous other organizations and individuals. We wholeheartedly embrace the Lions International motto, āWe serve.ā Lions International has clubs in more than 200 countries worldwide and is both one of the oldest and largest service organizations in the world. While the original charter was to help with sight issues, the scope now far exceeds that, including disaster assistance and many other needs locally and globally. Our Nipomo Lions meet twice a month, with a breakfast meeting the first Thursday of the month at Blacklake Golf Course and a dinner meeting at the Blacklake Community Center the third Thursday of the month. We not only work hard for our community, we have fun and great fellowship.
