I just wanted to compliment you regarding your reporting on the Oct. 15 Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors meeting regarding the “Camp 4” issue (“County to oppose Chumash fee-to-trust application,” Oct. 17).

It seems in some cases other reporters got some facts wrong, misquoted folks, or seemed to let their own personal bias creep in a bit.

Your reporting was fair and accurate and hit on a good portion of the important points.

The Chumash are certainly within their rights to apply for fee to trust, and the Santa Ynez Valley residents are also clearly within their rights to protest the granting of largely unrestricted land use to an influential and wealthy developer.
