Students with an eye out for social or environmental justice have the opportunity to apply for two San Luis Obispo Mothers for Peace scholarships until March 21.
College or university students who are juniors or seniors in the 2012-2013 school year can apply for a $1,000 scholarship. Students need to live within San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara counties or attend school in either county to apply. For the application to be considered, students need to show a commitment to positively impacting peace, social justice, or environmental issues.
Graduating high school seniors within San Luis Obispo County can vie for a $500 scholarship. Applicants need to show past and current involvement with peace, social justice, or environmental issues.
