The inaugural Nature Track Film Festival is scheduled for March 23 through 25 in Los Olivos.
Categories include Adventure, Conservation, Kids Connecting to Nature, Student, and a special category called Outdoors and Out of Bounds, which depicts extreme interactive outdoor activity. Juried awards determined by a panel of film industry professionals, outdoor guides, and teachers will be given out for Best Student Film, Best in Category, Best Depiction of Children Connecting to Nature��”the “Dan Conaway Award”��”and overall Best in Festival. There will also be an Audience Favorite award.
The festival will kick off with an opening reception at Mattei’s Tavern. Films will screen at three venues in Los Olivos: the Santa Ynez Valley Grange, the Gates Foss Community Center at Los Olivos School, and St. Mark’s In-The-Valley Episcopal Church. The event will also feature filmmaker meet-and-greets.
