There’s so much talk and print given to national and state candidates for Washington and Sacramento. But local races are so much more important. Who we elect for county supervisor affects all of more directly. That’s why Joyce Howerton’s run to unseat Joni Gray is a key race this year. She offers us an alternative to a candidate of photo ops, who is in the pocket of big developers.
You won’t see any glitzy photos of Joyce. She’s not a star. She’s a worker bee, who was elected three times as mayor of Lompoc because of her ability to listen and to get things done. That’s what we need in a supervisor. Once you know her, you will want to vote for her in the new 4th District.
