Larry Rankin, a sculptor who works in bronze, wood, and stone, will be this month’s presenter for Artist Salon No. 10. The program will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Feb. 29 at Rankin’s studio at 433 Freear Drive, Buellton.

Rankin’s expression through art is to create works not only varied, but emotionally evocative.

His awards include Best of Show in Sculpture at ArtExpo Las Vegas in 2007. He was the main sculptor at Lake House Galleries in Los Angeles in 2008, and his work has been shown in the Contemporary Art Forum, Santa Barbara; Solvang’s former Copenhagen Galleri; Designer Showcase International, Santa Barbara; Knapp House Design Showcase, Montecito; Entheos Gallery, Santa Barbara; and other galleries around the country.

The Artists Salon is intended to bring together people who have a love of art, to offer support of creativity, to encourage and inspire one another, and to explore ways to show and sell art in an enlarging and engaging experience to the community at large.

Attendees are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine or a favorite beverage and a snack. Program attendees may bring a sample of their own work, finished or in progress, for informal discussion.

The Artists Guild of the Santa Ynez Valley sponsors this program. For more information, call Rebecca at 688-7338. Find out more about Larry Rankin by visiting larryrrankin-sculptor.com.
