The Santa Maria Philharmonic Society announced its 10th anniversary season, offering four concerts with highly regarded music director John Farrer, who brings to the stage internationally recognized virtuoso soloists.

The season opens on Sept. 25 with guest soloist Bonnie Bogle Farrer performing Mendelssohn’s Piano Concerto No. 1 in G Minor. In November, the orchestra will present the works of Mozart, Elgar, Schumann, and Beethoven, followed in February by the music of J.C. Bach, Boyce, Vaughan Williams, Mozart, and Haydn. The April concert will include the works of Weber, Haydn, Ives, Bartok, and Mozart.

This year’s schedule will also include two special performances: a Benefit Fundraiser Concert on April 2, 2011, featuring the Riders of the Purple Sage with the Santa Maria Philharmonic Orchestra and a concert program on May 13, 2011, offering Piano for Six Hands, featuring Kirill Gliadkovsky, his wife, Anna Gliadkovskaya, and their teenage daughter, Anastassia.
