The city of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department will be hosting the eighth community walk of the series on Aug. 26, encouraging individuals and families to take up a daily walking regimen for health and
well being.

Participants will meet from 11 a.m. to noon at Rotary Centennial Park, 2625 S. College Drive. The perimeter of the park will act as the walk path, which is approximately one-mile per loop. Dog lovers are invited to bring their pets along. Participants are encouraged to bring their favorite lawn chair and a picnic basket and stay for the Summer Concert in the Park from 1 to 3 p.m., featuring the R&B music of ā€œSteppin’ Out.ā€
