The Central Coast Film Society (CCFS) will host a screening of Charade in Buellton on Sept. 1.
The film first debuted in 1963 and stars Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant. The genre-blending film was directed by Stanley Donen and tells the story of a woman (Hepburn) pursued by numerous men who seek the money that her late husband stole. Set and filmed in Paris, the movie combines elements of thriller, romance, and comedy and also features Walter Matthau and James Coburn.Ā
“We are bringing film history to light, not just from the Central Coast but from those who have had a major impact on the industry,” Daniel Lahr, executive director of CCFS, stated in a press release. “We want to also foster local professional and aspiring artists to get them more exposure and experience.”
Local filmmakers who want to see their work screened are asked to submit their films.
The Charade screening begins at 9:30 a.m. at Parks Plaza Theatre in Buellton. Tickets are $7 each or free for members of CCFS. For information on how to submit a film or to buy tickets, visit centralcoastfilmsociety.org.
