Fiddlehead Cellars recently announced “The Art of Fiddlehead,” a series of receptions for the palate and the palette, beginning on May 3. The series will benefit the nonprofit Arts Outreach while highlighting Fiddlehead wines and local artists. Series events will happen in the Fiddlehead barrel room in the Lompoc Wine Ghetto, 1597 E. Chestnut Ave., in Lompoc.

During select Thursdays, Fiddlehead’s mobile gallery will feature the artwork of a local artist for one day only. Patrons will enjoy catered hors d’oeuvres by Succulent Café & Trading Company that complement the wines, while socializing with the artist and viewing their work. All art and wine will be available for purchase, with Fiddlehead Cellars and the artists donating 25 percent of the proceeds to Arts Outreach.

The series will begin on Thursday, May 3, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and will feature sketches and paintings by Fiddlehead’s own Luis Ramirez. In addition to his current role as tasting room manager at Fiddlehead, Ramirez previously taught for Arts Outreach and was the featured artist at the inaugural show of the Arts Outreach Gallery in Los Olivos. His artwork has also graced the wine bottles of Vino de Sueños.

The series continues on June 28, featuring photography by Robert Hamilton; July 26, featuring oil paintings by Zoë Nathan; and Oct. 18, with an artist to be announced.

Advance sale tickets are $10 and may be purchased at fiddleheadcellars.com/tickets1.html, at the Fiddlehead tasting room, or by calling 1-800-251-1225. Tickets will also be available at the door for $15.
