Arrests in the Javier Limon murder case keep coming. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office announced on July 24 that detectives arrested 21-year-old Bryan Rios of Santa Maria on suspicion of being the fifth person involved the death of Limon, according to the Sheriff’s Public Information Officer Kelly Hoover.

The body of 37-year-old Limon was found by a group of field workers near the entrance to the Guadalupe Dunes during the early morning hours of Aug. 19, 2014, according to the Sheriff’s Office.

Soon after, Gregoria Agustine, 26; Yesenia Granados, 24; and Arturo Granados, 22—all from Santa Maria—were arrested in September 2014 for their suspected roles in Limon’s murder. They have all been charged with murder, with additional charges including kidnapping, torture, and committing the crime for criminal street gang purposes.

Last May, the Sheriff’s Office accused 21-year-old Joseph Morales—who is currently serving state prison time in Los Angeles—of orchestrating Limon’s death from prison using a cell phone. Morales is currently serving a sentence for a 2006 attempted homicide in Santa Maria.

Rios was charged with California Penal Code 187(a), or murder, according to an official with the Santa Maria office of the Santa Barbara County District Attorney.
