An unknown male who was found dead near the intersection of Highway 101 and Tefft Street in Nipomo on June 13 may be the victim of a hit-and-run accident, according the California Highway Patrol.
The collision report states that a driver collided with the male, who was in the southbound lane of 101, and drove off before emergency personnel arrived at the scene. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The male was found near the southbound lane of 101 at 9:15 p.m., the report states. The southbound side of the highway was closed for nearly four hours as police investigated.
CHP officials havenāt released the identity of the victim pending notification of family, although the report said next of kin was notified as of 4 a.m. on June 14.
No arrests have been made, and the incident is still under investigation, according to the CHP.
