Call for Entries (CFE)—an annual juried exhibition that encourages artists from the local community to produce newly commissioned work—is currently seeking submissions.

CFE is open to visual artists of all mediums from Santa Barbara, Ventura, and San Luis Obispo counties.

Applicants must not be closely affiliated with the Santa Barbara Contemporary
Arts Forum (CAF) or have participated in a past CFE
exhibition. Three to six artists will be selected by a panel of jurors composed of art professionals to exhibit new work in a group exhibition held at CAF
in 2013.

The panel of distinguished jurors includes: Jill Dawsey, associate curator, Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego; Cesar Garcia, founder and director of The Mistake Room, Los Angeles, and the current U.S. Commissioner for the 13th International Cairo Biennale, Egypt; and Ruba Karib, curator, Sculpture Center, New York, NY. Selected artists will work with a curator through a series of studio visits to propose and create new work.

All submissions are individually evaluated based on the artistic and creative strength of work within the last five years. Fee is $30 for CAF members, $45 for non-members, and is waived for new (non-renewing) members.

A completed application and fee must be submitted online by Oct. 21 at midnight.
