The city of Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department has announced the winners of the 16th annual “Lights, Sights, and Holiday Nights” decoration contest. After considering the 32 nominations, which included three local businesses, Recreation and Parks commissioners “Bruno” Brunello and Gayle Pratt officially judged the winning locations based on the quality of holiday cheer and decoration at each location.
Winner of “Best Decorated Residence Southeast” is the Murillo Family at 639 Forbes Place. The “Best Decorated Residence Southwest” goes to Romeo and Minda Aguinaldo at 2436 Rolling Green Drive. “Best Decorated Resident Northeast” goes to the Enriquez Family at 519 North Brian St. “Best Decorated Residence Northwest” goes to Dian Alexander at 1027 West El Camino St.
The “Best of Show” award was given to Robert and Sandra Dickerson at 104 Palm Court. The “Spirit of Santa Maria” award went to Marian Medical Center at 1400 East Church St. The “Best Animation” award was given to John Hindle at 1030 Cortez Drive. And the “Best Craftsmanship” award was given to Bob and Stephanie Melena at 1324 East Valley Oaks Place. The “Lifetime Achievement Winners” were Earl and Donna Thacker at 1749 North Vine St. and also Michael B. Clayton and Associates Attorney at Law at 400 East Orange St.
