It won’t be quite the scale of Rockefeller Center, but “Mega Holiday on Ice” will be as close as it gets in the North County to a classic winter wonderland.

Beginning Dec. 10, downtown Santa Maria will be transformed into a real ice skating rink, suitable for all ages. Skaters will feel the breeze on their faces as they pick up speed, gliding across the ice at the corner of Cook and Broadway, outside of the Town Center mall. Hot chocolate will be available, along with the traditional Christmas decorations, holiday lights, and music.

Individual tickets will cost $12 to $15 per session, including skates. Skating sessions and private parties will be available 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day from Dec. 10 to Jan. 11. For sponsorships or private party bookings, call 331-4744. Catering is available.
