Stinn and Shinn take their show on the road
Two local artists are packing their works and heading south. Gerry Stinn and Bill Shinn will have a reception, demonstration, and book signing at the Santa Barbara Art Museum Store. The Stinn and Shinn Trunk Show will take place on Oct. 25 at the store.
In addition to showing their latest work, Stinn will demonstrate making silver and gold bracelets and other jewelry, and Shinn will sell and sign the recently published Extruder, Mold and Tile. The book is a compilation of past articles written for Ceramics Monthly and Pottery Making Illustrated, to which Shinn contributed four chapters.
Stinn is a jewelry artist and the owner of Stinn Jewelers in Santa Maria. Stinnās jewelry designs have been shown in the Delaware Museum of Art, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, and in a permanent exhibit at the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.
Shinn has more than 40 years of experience in art, which he gained through his travels and studies all around the world. Heās been recognized internationally for ceramic painting. His works can also currently be seen at the new Santa Maria Public Library.

Town Center Gallery is on display at Good Neighbor Bakery
The Town Center Gallery may have moved out of its space in the Santa Maria Town Center, but it hasnāt lost its art. A āminiā gallery show is on display at the Good Neighbor Bakery, 2660 S. Industrial Parkway. Cathy Gregg, a member of the Town Center Gallery Board of Directors, said that owner Pete Taylor has generously allowed the gallery to use the bakeryās open space to hang the art.
The show will run through Nov. 12.
Gregg also has more reasons to be pleased these days. Her own art has recently received accolades: Her photography won the Peopleās Choice Award at the Autumn Arts, Grapes and Grains Festival for the second year in a row. Morro Bay Maelstrom is now hanging in the new library until the end of October.
