Ā The California Chapter of Republicans for Environmental Protection (Cal REP) has endorsed seven GOP candidates running for state office, including Mike Stoker (35th Assembly District). āCal REP is proud to endorse these candidates based on their positions on issues that are important to our organization. We considered their views and leadership on, and contributions to, issues important to California and its economy, such as energy, conservation, pollution, and water,ā Cal REP President Virginia Chang Kiraly said in a release to the media. Kiraly is also a commissioner on the California Commission for Economic Development. Cal REP is dedicated to restoring the GOPās great conservation tradition, best exemplified by the vision and leadership of President Theodore Roosevelt. The organization believes āthat a healthy economy and a healthy environment are mutually interdependent and that the Republican Party should reflect a conservation ethic for responsible stewardship of our land and natural resources,ā according to the press release.

Get ready to get your vote on: Santa Barbara County Registrar of Voters Joe Holland announced earlier this month that more than 101,000 vote-by-mail ballots have been delivered to local households for the statewide Primary Election on June 8. Voters will nominate candidates in several races, including U.S. senator, members of the House of Representatives, governor, and lieutenant governor, as well as five statewide ballot initiatives. Santa Barbara County voters will pick their candidates for positions such as 5th District supervisor and district attorney, as well as three local measures. Vote-by-mail ballots must be turned into the County Elections Office by June 1 or a polling place within Santa Barbara County by 8 p.m. on June 8.
