Seniors will have the opportunity to put the phrase ā€œlaughter is the best medicineā€ to the test for free starting May 20.

The Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department is offering Laughter Yoga, an unconditional aerobic laughter exercise and complete well-being workout designed to relieve stress and strengthen the immune system. The class isn’t a traditional yoga class requiring stretches, special clothing, mats, or props and can be done by all ages, physical abilities, fitness levels, and body types.

Classes will be offered for ages 50 and older from 11 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays at the Elwin Mussell Senior Center, located at 510 E. Park Avenue.

For more information, call the Recreation and Parks Department at 925-0951, Ext. 260.
