Coinciding with the busiest shopping time of the year, Santa Maria Electric, Inc. is installing brighter and whiter lighting at the Town Center mall’s city-owned parking structures, replacing the amber-colored sodium lights used previously.

The contractor replaced lighting on
the lower level of Parking Structure A
with induction lights, resulting in better visibility for shoppers and employees. According to the city, more lighting will be installed on all three levels of the 1,800-space parking structure between Cook and Miller streets.

The city’s Public Works Department funded the project with a grant through the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act of 2009.

engineer Shad Springer in the Public Works Department at 925-0951, Ext. 225.
