October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and in its honor, Panera Bread is raising money for breast cancer research by offering its Pink Ribbon Bagel.
The Pink Ribbon Bagel is made with cherry chips, dried cherries and cranberries, vanilla, honey, and brown sugar and is shaped in the form of a traditional breast cancer awareness ribbon. Sue Stees, one of Panera Breadās first franchisees and a breast cancer survivor, developed the idea in 2001 as a way to help support the cause.
For every Pink Ribbon Bagel sold in the 49 Panera Bread locations in Southern Californiaāincluding Santa MariaāPanera will donate 5 to 25 cents to support breast cancer awareness and research. Proceeds will go to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and the Los Angeles Breast Cancer Alliance.
Panera is located at 540 E. Betteravia Road.
