Elections season is in full swing, and along with countless signs around town the commercials are now rolling in. A radio spot promoting Joyce Dudley for Santa Barbara County District Attorney made me chuckle and gave me insight into the best candidate for the job.

The ad cites Ms. Dudley’s experience and the number of trials she had under her belt before her “young” opponent, Josh Lynn, had even passed his bar exam. At the end of the ad, it cites Mr. Lynn’s glowing performance evaluation of her he wrote last year. Did I miss something or is she telling the voters that, despite all her experience, the “young” Mr. Lynn has promoted to a place of leadership within the DA’s office beyond her that has him writing her evaluations? Thanks, Joyce, for making this an easy decision: I am voting for Josh Lynn.
