The Santa Barbara County Arts Commission has announced a new show at the Betteravia Galleries North and South, titled Under the Influence: Responses to Place. The exhibit, which was co-curated by Kam Jacoby and Karen Gearhart-Jensen, features the works of seven North and South Santa Barbara County artists showing through Jan. 22.

Artists include Kit Boise-Cossart, Kate Connell, Bill Dewey, Brett Leigh Dicks, Eric B. Johnson, David Passage, and Roe Anne White. Jacoby and Gearhart-Jensen designed the show to explore how a place can influence artistic expression. The landscapes and landmarks of the Central Coast are explored extensively for this photographic exhibition.

Under the Influence: Responses to Place shows through Jan. 22 at the Joseph Centeno Betteravia Government Building, 511 E. Lakeside, Santa Maria. More information is available at 568-3994 or ferri@co.santa-barbara.ca.us.
