Earlier this month, the Santa Ynez Valley Tribe of Chumash Indians unveiled the results of its $120,000 project at Los Olivos Elementary.

The school is now equipped with a newly renovated multi-purpose tennis facility. Thanks to the help of Sport Court from Southern California, the courts feature a professional surface, new netting, and basketball hoops.

ā€œThe tribe has donated over $18 million throughout the years to our local community, and it’s projects like this that we take great pleasure in doing,ā€ Vincent Armenta, Tribal Chairman for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, said in a press release.

The event reception featured speeches from Armenta, the school, and the SYV Youth Recreation President Frank Kelsey.
