In recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month and National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, several Northern Santa Barbara County organizations are hosting the North County Child Abuse Prevention Summit on April 30 at the Santa Maria Inn from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Local residents are invited to learn about child abuse and neglect in the Santa Maria area. Experts will also provide information about preventative resources in the community.

The summit event is sponsored by more than a dozen organizations, including members of the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors, the Child Abuse Prevention Council, Child Welfare Services, KIDS Network, and First 5 Santa Barbara County.

For more information, call KIDS Network at 346-8222 or e-mail k.zulliger@sbcsocialserv.org.
