Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department deputies are asking the public to help them locate a 55-year-old man who went missing after getting into a car accident.
On Aug. 18, CHP and Sheriff’s Department personnel responded to a report that a silver 2003 Mercedes-Benz SUV crashed into a
tree in the 2500 block of Alisal Road, near Nojoqui Park.
The vehicle was totaled and the driver, Kurt Brimberry, was not found at the scene. A passerby reported seeing a man matching Brimberry’s description walking toward the Alisal Guest Ranch, on Alisal Road, shortly after the crash, but responding emergency workers couldn’t find him.
Brimberry wasn’t found at local hotels or the hospital, and a search of the area by a Sheriff’s Department helicopter, dogs, and Search and Rescue personnel revealed no leads. His cell phone was left on the front seat of the car.
Brimberry might require medical attention because of the collision and a previously existing medical condition. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a light blue polo shirt, and Topsider deck shoes. He is 6 feet tall and weighs approximately 210 pounds, has blond hair, blue eyes, and fair skin.
