Santa Maria singer and songwriter Chris Lambert will release his seventh full-length album, The Weatherman, on Aug. 28 via his own Radiant Radish label.

The album reaches back to the 1960s for its expansive sound palette, which includes sitar, woodwinds, vibraphone, string sections, and 12-string guitars—a stark contrast from the futuristic sounds of his previous album Krakatoa Lazer Punch. It’s a collection of 12 original, hook-filled songs, which harkens back to the late 1960s/early ’70s psychedelic rock, while staying firmly rooted in contemporary indie rock.

The Weatherman will premiere at Shepard Hall in the Santa Maria Public Library at 7 p.m. on Aug. 24. Admission is free. The album is available for pre-order on iTunes and or at chrislambert.bandcamp.com. For more information, call 925-8286 or visit chrislambertrecords.com.
