Basketball shenanigans are on the menu when the Harlem Wizards come to Righetti High School to take on the local Law Enforcement All-Stars on March 31.
The Wizards, known for their on-court antics and high-flying dunks, have toured worldwide since 1962, playing in more than 6,000 games in 22 countries. Making their inaugural appearance in Santa Maria, the Wizardsā roster includes former Harlem Globetrotters as player-coaches. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the game tips off at 7 p.m. in the Righetti High School gymnasium.
Former Los Angeles Dodger Robin Ventura and Chicago Bulls All-Star forward Horace Grant will coach the All-Stars, a local team comprised of Santa Barbara County Sheriffās deputies, officers from the California Highway Patrol, and the Santa Maria and Lompoc police departments.
Tickets are on sale at the Righetti High School Business Office, Play It Again Sports, Help-U-Sell and Why USA in Santa Maria, and the offices at Pioneer Valley and Santa Maria high schools. Proceeds from the event benefit Righetti High School athletics. Tickets for students and seniors are $10 in advance, $12 at the gate. General admission is $12 presale and $15 on game day.
