The Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes Center will present a hike to Coreopsis Hill led by Jenny Langford, Lauren Brown, and Dirk Walters of the California Native Plant Society. The hike will begin at 9 a.m. and willĀ  be a casual walk through the National Wildlife Refuge to the top of Coreopsis Hill.

The moderate to strenuous hike will last about three hours roundtrip. Hikers park and meet at the Guadalupe-Nipomo Dunes National Wildlife Refuge parking area on Beigle Road between 8:30 and 9 a.m. The Beigle Road entrance is approximately 0.7 miles from the Oso Flaco Lake parking area. Hikers should dress in layers, wear comfortable shoes and long pants, and bring water and snacks. The Dune Mother’s Wildflower Guide by Dr. Malcolm McLeod is also helpful for the trip.
