It’s not every day that you can bowl and support a worthwhile cause simultaneously. However, on Nov. 21, from 1 to 3 p.m., Teen Court will offer a chance for bowling aficionados and community supporters to play a game to raise funds for North County Teen Court.
The bowling extravaganza will be held in the hallowed lanes of Rancho Bowl. Music, prizes, and awards will be dispersed among the participants.
To sign up, visit cadasm.org, where lies payment options via credit card or PayPal. Prices range from $30 for the full two-hour single-lane experience to $150 dollars for a single-lane use for five. As the prices go up, so do the benefits: A company or family name can be printed on banners across the bowling alley or on flyers. The feeling of offering a helping hand goes up, too.
Bowling shoes will be provided, and bowling teams should arrive at 12:30 p.m.
People who don’t want to bowl can sponsor a youth and his or her family to offer an opportunity that may not be available on a regular basis.
Santa Maria Teen Court has saved 2,121 youths from the harrowing experience of the juvenile justice system, while at the same time teaching them skills for avoiding future negative confrontations with the law.
Anyone interested in the event—but who wants more information—should contact Teen Court program manager Crystal Moreno at 925-8860, Ext. 101, or visit cadasm.org.
