It was another strong showing for Allan Hancock College sports this last week as spring teams are gearing up for kickoffs. Bulldog softball moved to 5-3 on the season, with 8-2 and 6-0 victories at the Mt. St. Jacinto season opener.
Former Righetti Warrior and stud player Katie Chenault helped lead the team to a doubleheader win. The freshman scattered one hit and one walk across six innings. She benched 10 and allowed one run.
According to Hancock Athletics, Chenault followed up in the second game with a four-hit shutout. The freshman hurlerās performance helped land her the Most Valuable Player award for the tournament.
The Bulldogs kick off their season at home against Taft on Feb. 20 at 2 p.m. at Hagerman Sports Complex.
Also, Hancock swimming, in their inaugural season, finished third out of 10 teams at the recent Western State Conference Pentathlon held at Ventura College. Leanna Bramble won four events for the Bulldogs to help lead them to the win.Ā
