Nonprofit managers, staffers, and volunteers are invited to learn ways to create a public policy that responds to clients and community needs at a workshop presented by the Alliance for Justice on Oct. 7.

Ā

Attorney-trainers from the organization will teach the difference between lobbying and advocacy, how to maximize 501(c)(3) lobbying, how to invite candidates to speak at events, and ways to best employ advocacy tools.

Ā

The workshop will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the City of Santa Maria Library, located at 421 S. McClelland Ave. Parts of the training will be offered in English and Spanish. Registration is required, and a payment of $10 is needed in advance to attend.
