Caltrans will close northbound lanes on Highway 101
Ā Ā Ā  Drivers annoyed by alternating lane closures on southbound Highway 101 from the Route 135 Interchange to Santa Maria Way will be happy to know that they’ll reopen on Jan. 9. The closures last from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Ā Ā Ā  The lane closures allow Caltrans to mark and stripe the roadway. This final phase of the $30 million, six-lane project also includes striping the northbound lanes the week of Jan. 12. Workers expect to complete the project by the end of January, after which the new traffic lanes will be open to the public.
Ā Ā Ā  Caltrans officials said in a release to the media that motorists can expect delays of no more than 15 minutes.
Ā Ā Ā  For updates on the project, call Caltrans at 549-3318 or 1-888-SB ROADS, or visit dot.ca.gov/dist/05/maint/road/upsb.htm.
