Kids all of ages will have close encounters with bats, owls, scorpions, spiders, and snakes, along with real skulls and bones, at the Cachuma Lake Nature Center’s ā€œCreepy Creaturesā€ event on Oct. 22.

From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Nature Center, Gabrielle Drozdowski will introduce children to ā€œMax,ā€ her great horned owl, while Alice Abela brings along her collection of spiders, snakes, and other reptiles.

There will be much more to get visitors in the Halloween spirit, including witches, arts and craft activities, and Todd Baron, who will be creating snakes and spiders out of balloons. Popcorn and punch will be provided, and admission is free with a $10 park visitor fee.

For more information, call the Nature Center at 693-0691.
