The 2011 edition of the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo will be undergoing a ground-up makeover involving a new VIP suite section and a change to the way general admission tickets are sold, rodeo organizers said.

This year’s Elks Rodeo “Western Weekend” will kick off with the Dave Osburn Memorial Pro Bull Riding performance on June 2. Rodeo performances will take place June 3 to 5, capped off with live country rock at the Elks Unocal Events Center. Rodeo producer Cotton Rosser will bring his Flying U Rodeo Co. and “Born to Buck” program, and nine-time Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association Performer of the Year Bob Tallman is scheduled to make a return.

Discounted presale tickets can be picked up at all local Albertson’s supermarkets. For a chance to win free tickets, follow the Santa Maria Elks Rodeo on Facebook.
