Since the Guadalupe City Council has not done anything about the football field at O’Conner Park in the city of Guadalupe, maybe they should spend the funds on hiring more Fire Department employees.

We have three full-time fire captains and one part-time permit tech/firefighter. I am concerned that we do not have a fully staffed night shift. We should have a captain on duty and three firefighting personnel on each shift at all times. The Guadalupe Fire Department is doing all they can, but they need help. The personnel shortage limits their ability to efficiently fight fires. Also, it puts firefighters at a higher risk because it does not meet OSHA’s requirement that there be at least two firefighters within a structure and two firefighters outside while interior structure firefighting is taking place.

It seems like this City Council is putting the city of Guadalupe in a very bad position. With new housing coming into the city of Guadalupe, I am concerned.

We need two lights at the bus stop at Pioneer Street. I wrote a letter some time ago about this project and nothing has been done. We have the lights, they are at the sewer treatment plant, and there is power already at the bus stop. What is the holdup?

I have had, maybe, two meetings our new city administrator about bringing back the Planning Commission. This City Council better wake up.

We have the funds to pay for lawsuits, but we do not have funds for a Planning Commission?

Some of the City Council members should retire now because they are bringing nothing to the City Council meetings. This is why the residents of Guadalupe do not attend the City Council meetings. They are mad and feel as if nothing will get accomplished.
