Want to go to college but don’t have time to commute or sit in classrooms? According to Allan Hancock College officials, the school’s online classes “offer flexibility in scheduling to accommodate work, family, and/or transportation constraints.”

Hancock offers weekend and Fast Track classes that last eight weeks or as short as one or two days, and more than 20 are available online. Next spring, the college will offer 168 classes online, and 43 are being offered Friday, Saturday, and/or Sunday.

Online classes include accounting, business, culinary arts, economics, desktop publishing, chemistry, electronics, English, nutrition, fire technology, history, Italian, math, government, psychology, winemaking, and more. Weekend classes include biology, business, ceramics, and winemaking. Fast Track course offerings range from art and dance to business, early childhood studies, biology, lean manufacturing, environmental technology, and more.

Most online classes require an orientation session prior to the start of classes. Semester-length classes begin the week of Jan. 24, and Fast Track classes begin after Jan. 28. The rest are classes lasting less than eight weeks, and they begin at different times throughout the semester.

Information about all classes, along with registration, can be found online at hancockcollege.edu, or by call 922-6966, Ext. 3248.
