The Wildling Art Museum has announced a call for artists to compete in its fall fine art competition on the subject of “Where Humans and Nature Intersect.” The Wildling, a wilderness art museum, will be accepting entrants until 5 p.m. on Sept. 18, open to all mediums except photography.
Artists are invited to look closer to home and explore the wilderness in local streets and towns. All entries must reflect the museum’s mission: the appreciation and preservation of wilderness areas through art. Entry fee is $20 per submission with a limit of two entries per person.
An award of $500 will go to the first-place winner. The second-place winner will receive $250, and third-place winner will receive $100.
Artwork will be judged by a panel of experts, which will include Tony Askew, Michael Drury, and Executive Director Stacey Otte. Chosen selections will be on display in the Barbara Goodall Education Center gallery Sept. 28 through Nov. 13.
Complete information, rules, and entry forms are available at the Wildling Art Museum at 2928 San Marcos Ave. in Los Olivos or by visiting wildlingmuseum.org.
