Local swing dance teacher John Wheaton has been invited to judge the US Open National Swing Dance Championships, which is largely considered to be one of the most prestigious swing dance events in the world. Wheaton began dancing in the late 1980s and began teaching the ’90s. He teaches and emcees dance events around the country.
Wheaton also teaches local classes, including Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at Rancho Nipomo in Nipomo, and Wednesday evenings at the Solvang Veterans’ Hall. More information is available at 937-1574 or centralcoastswingdance.com.
