Tunnell Elementary School took on Ralph Dunlap Elementary School in the Boys and Girls Club All-Valley Flag Football Super Bowl championship on Nov. 6.

The Tunnell Thunderbirds overtook the Dunlap Dolphins, 30-0, under the lights at the Pioneer Valley High School football field. The Thunderbirds were victorious for the second year in a row. The teams battled against each other for last year’s championship as well.

Angel Vences, a sixth grader from Tunnell, scored two touchdowns, and the team’s quarterback, Max Esparza, thew one touchdown pass.

This was Tunnell’s fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years, and the second Super Bowl appearance for Dunlap.

The Thunderbirds were undefeated this season, finishing 10-0.
