Got a green thumb? It’s not too late to sign up for Allan Hancock College’s Green Gardener class, co-sponsored by the college and the Santa Barbara County Water Agency. It runs in Santa Maria for nine weeks.
Green Gardener is a bilingual class offered through the college’s Adult Education Program. It’s open to anyone, but specifically targets gardeners currently in the landscaping business. The classes will cover a range of topics meant to educate gardeners about sustainable landscaping practices and other ways to help protect the environment while enhancing gardens and saving money.
Interested gardeners can register and turn in a $30 fee during the next Green Gardener class on March 17. The class meets every Tuesday from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Columbia Business Center, room 32, at 900 E. Stowell Road in Santa Maria.
