The media did a real good job scaring everyone. So after all this time, you should let reality set in. Has anyone in your immediate or extended family tested positive for COVID-19? I had two. My son and a son-in-law. Did any of those people have symptoms, become hospitalized, or die? My family had no symptoms and went back to work. One is 40 years of age the other 50. Have any of your friends or their friends been hospitalized or died from COVID-19? At 75 years of age I know the full age gamut and the answer is no. A nephew had his whole family ill back in December 2019. A toddler with asthma managed with a home nebulizer to recover at home.
The latest screaming headline is 4 million worldwide have died from COVID-19. Even if I quibble about people who were in hospice or had other health problems the math works out to 5.06 in 10,000 people. Assuming that new cases are quarantined, hospitalized, or dead, what do you think your chances of coming into contact with a person who has COVID-19?
Further, we are told this vaccine isnāt going to fully protect you, so in big crowds like Dodger Stadium you should wear a mask and the new variant might still be a danger. I donāt think we are being given straight-shooting information. Letās put our cards on the table and get serious about when enough is enough.
But wait, thereās more. There will be those who said our extreme measures worked. Questionable. States like South Dakota did not lock down or make mandates. They treated it like an ordinary influenza breakout and told their citizens to use common sense. There are other states like Florida that relaxed restrictions almost a year ago. Many states have had their students back in full class sessions since last August.Ā
