On the roster• Turkey Trot: Runners of all ages and skill levels will be putting their fitness to the test at the Santa Maria Recreation and Parks Department’s 16th Annual Turkey Trot Fun Run on Nov. 17. Runners age 15 and older can sign up for the 5K race, which begins at 8:30 a.m. at the Hagerman Sports Complex, 3300 Skyway Dr. Boys and girls ages 7 to 14 can participate in the one-mile run, starting at 8:45 a.m. Registration is $20 by Nov. 8 and $25 thereafter and can be done at the department’s office, 615 S. McClelland St. Fees include a T-shirt and finisher medal. Awards will also be handed out to first- and second-place finishers in each division. For more information, call the Recreation and Parks Department at 925-0951, Ext. 260. • Turkey 3 Mile Fun Run: Runners 7 years old and older are invited to join a 3-mile race at Lompoc’s River Park from 9 to 10 a.m. on Nov. 18. Check in is from 8 to 8:45 a.m. Participation costs $15 for pre-registration, $20 at the event itself, and the price includes a T-shirt, plus prizes awarded for first- and second-place finishers in various categories.
