SCFA approves realignments

The Southern California Football Association’s executive committee approved a conference and divisional realignment over the next two seasons, adding a new look to Allan Hancock College’s schedule.

Hancock rival El Camino will be moving out of the northern conference, while Pasadena City College and Moorpark will join it. Besides Hancock, the rest of the conference will include Bakersfield, College of the Canyons, and Ventura.

After two years in a three-tiered, six-conference format, the SCFA will be a two-tiered system with three conferences in its upper division and two in the lower. The three conference champions of the national division will qualify for the Southern California playoffs.

Schedules for the 2012 season will be released in February or March.
